ROLE OF CHILDREN EDUCATION IN INDIA, India has made great strides in improving access to quality education, increasing elementary school enrolment, and reducing the number of out-of-school children. Around 50 percent of adolescents do not complete secondary education, while approximately 20 million children not attending pre-school in this world. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life. It is a movement from darkness to light. without education, people get caught in the inter-generational cycles of poverty and backwardness.
Seven decades have passed after independence but still, India struggles to achieve a literacy rate of over 90 percent. Providing quality education. providing quality education to all children of India should be the top priority of both the state and central governments. And thus, the different departments of the government of India often support charities to bring more and more children under the ambit of their education initiatives. Pakistan has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world, yet no serious effects have been made to promote literacy. as a consequence, we face several problems.
Literacy in India is a key for socio-economic progress. The Census of India provides us with information regarding the population. It organizes the collection and recording of the information of the Indian population. In India, the census is conducted once every 10 years. To know development in a society, Literacy is another proper indicator of economic development. For purpose of the census, a person in age limit of seven and above, who can both write and read with understanding in any of the languages is considered literate in India. Literacy plays a major role in the economic development of a nation. Although India has raised its current literacy rate of 74.04% (2021) from 12% at the time of Independence in 1947, it still lags behind the world average literacy rate of 84%. Compared with other nations, the Republic of India has the largest illiterate population.
Education is one of the precious weapons which can behold forever with us and it also increases the literacy rate in society. One of the main factors contributing to this relatively low literacy rate is the usefulness of education and availability of schools in the vicinity in rural areas. There is a shortage of classrooms to accommodate all the students in 2006–2007. In addition, there is no proper sanitation in most schools. The study of 188 government-run primary schools in central and northern India revealed that 59% of the schools had no drinking water facility and 89% no toilets.
Development of literacy rate in India can be achieved by

Over the last decade, learning outcomes for children in India have steadily declined. This is despite an increase in budgeted expenditure on pressure to India in many aspects. Literacy is not only the way to get employment; it also encourages one to know human rights so that everyone can get what they deserve. Many of our fellow Indians face hardships, difficulties, and humiliation on a daily basis all because of illiteracy. Hence, it is time to remove all of these difficulties by increasing the rate of literacy.
The organizations that employ children to work sometimes abuse them illegally if they are not working up to expected standards. In some countries, parents consider their children as a reliable source of income. It can be a huge support for poor families if their children bring in the money. But we have to stop this system and their thinking over children in India. so, in order to increase the literacy rate in India, we have to implement various programs to educate a child and stop them from going to work. And encourage some interest for them to learn new things.
Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel. So, we must provide education for every child with safety and protection.
